Ways to Ensure Safety in Car Hire

Always check a car's condition before renting it
The following are the basic parts of a rental car that you should check:
- Tires
- Body of the Car
- Paint Work
- Airbag/s
- Lights
- Seatbelts
- Windshield and Wipers
You may also request to test drive the rental car first. After all, the rental company will be charging you for whatever damages the car would have upon return, so noting prior damages won't do you harm.
Get a Good Insurance Deal
Not all rentals cover insurance costs. Before signing up for a rental, it is better to read all guidelines first. There may be extra charges in store to cover other insurance costs.
Check the Terms of Your Deal
There are some rental deals wherein only a certain mileage allowance will be given, charging you a certain amount per extra mile. Always make sure that you have an unlimited mileage on your deal if you are planning to use the rental car for the long haul, especially for trips outside UK . Another stipulation to look out for is the "Return with a full tank" clause. Although almost all of the rental companies employ this, there are still some that do not.
Clean the Car Before Returning It
If you left a reasonable amount of waste in your rental car, you may be facing cleaning charges from the company.
