Useful Driving Tidbits in the UK

- The minimum driving age is seventeen.
- Driving is always on the left side of the road.
- Parking meters are common in the major cities and towns. You will have to put money in the meter and display the ticket on your rental car's dashboard.
- Yellow lines found on sidewalks, in different variations, indicate parking restrictions. Accompanying signs can be found near these indicators for details of these limitations.
- The blood/alcohol limit for driving is 0.05%. UK law is very strict with regards to drinking and driving.
- Speed Limits for regular street lighting is 30 mph, unless there's a sign that specifies otherwise. For roads with no street lights, the speed limits are 60 mph (single carriageway) and 70 mph (dual carriageway).
